You could go via Italy and into The Col D'Iseran to Val D'sere and there onwards to lake Annecy. I'd show you on google maps, but it will not work until the snow is cleared from the passes.
Welcome. I was thinking of taking that route back from Lake Como via south of France and back towards Grenoble. Is that realistic? is there a route to Annency after that? Any tips gratefully received.
We followed the route from Grenoble south to Cannes so that sounds perfectly do'able. Going down to Genoa and following the coast round to Cannes might be a nice way to start the trip. After Grenoble it looks like main road North East takes you straight to Annency - we came in from the West. Grenoble is lovely city to spend a couple of days - don't miss the Téléphérique up to the Bastille. Fabulous!
