I was recently invited to take my DB9 Volante and join 2 x Astons , 5 x Ferraris and an AMG for a weekend at the Le Mans classic.
On the way there, the 512TR developed a misfire that continued throughout the trip but luckily Chris (the owner) managed to nurse it back home with a probable coil pack issue. The 308 GTS leaked when the rain came and opened its door whist driving on the motorway and the 328 drank a litre of oil getting there. The only one not to return was Anthony’s Mondial, which died on the way back with a suspected water pump failure. He’s had to stay in France over night then take a hire car home.
The three Astons, 458 and the AMG on the other hand were faultless.
One highlight was the public reaction to 3 x Astons and 5 x Ferraris pulling into their little town to re fuel.
Kids were calling their friends to get to the petrol station to take photos. By the time we fueld up there was a small crowd.
